Day 36: Expressing my Creativity

I got so much great feedback from my last photo update, that I realize photos are what people REALLY like. I mean, sure, it's great to hear about what'd going on, and what I'm learning, but photos are also really fun and a great way to express through another medium (besides words) what's going on, and what your feeling, and what you're learning.  So here it is, another photo update.  But instead of photos from around the city or of my workplace, I'm going to share with you pictures of what I've been able to do in my down time.  Mostly, what I do is find some way to express myself through some sort of creative activity, and as you may have picked up on from my previous post, I love using art and artistic activities as ways to spend time with God.  This doesn't mean that everything I do is super awesome and spiritual, it's mostly just super awesome.   But seriously, doing creative things is not just a way to connect with God and pray, but it's also a way for me to just hang out with him; it's a way of saying, "hey, you made me like this, so I'm going to use this gift to have fun", and I think God enjoys that :)

So without further ado, I present to you my Down-Time Portfolio (warning, there are days when I have A LOT of down time)

This is a stippling piece I felt inspired to do

I thought it might be cool to see some progression

It took a long time, but I actually enjoyed the process

This is another painting I did recently

"God created mankind in His own image,

The painting to the right is one that I've done several variations of, but I just like it so much!  This painting is my visual representation of the Trinity.  It is made from only red, yellow, and blue paint--the primary colors.  I picked those colors because they are the colors from which all other colors are made; you cannot mix any other colors to create them, they just are.  The primary colors in the center represent the Trinity, and all the colors coming from the center represent all of creation, yet the crown of creation was mankind.  And like the verse says, we are created in the image of God, in the image of God we are created, male and female, we are made in his image.  We are the crown of His creation and he loves us dearly.  I always love creating new versions of this concept, it's always so cool. (So if you want to make your own version an then email it to me or Facebook it to me, that would be so totally cool!  Get creative people!)

So I hope you enjoyed these 8 million photos, I just wanted to share with you what I've been able to do.  It's cool that with all the growing and changing I'm going through, something else that gets to grow and change as well is my art style and my artistic abilities; very cool.  Let me know what you thought of this post!
